Hosvara Inc. Acquires Dr. Backup, Bringing a 24-Year MSP Data Protection Leader Into Its Family of Brands
Dr. Backup’s MSP partners across the U.S. and Canada can expect the same trusted platform and responsive service, now backed by additional resources. Founder Mitch Romm will continue as a strategic advisor.
DALLAS, Texas, September 18, 2026 — Hosvara Inc., the operator-led holding company, today announced it has acquired Dr. Backup, a cloud backup provider that has served the Managed Service Provider (MSP) community since 2002. The company will now operate as Dr. Backup, A Hosvara Company. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded by Mitch Romm, Dr. Backup has spent more than two decades building a reputation in the MSP channel for reliable data protection and currently partners with MSPs across the United States and Canada. Romm will remain involved with the company as a strategic advisor to help ensure a smooth transition.
