Your Online Backup Data Lives In A Secure Carrier-Grade Collocation Facility

Storage Infrastructure

Security of your valuable data – after it has been backed up – is of paramount importance. For this reason, we have contracted with LightSpar, LLC for professional onsite management and technical support of our data storage equipment and telecommunications infrastructure.

Carrier Grade Facility

LightSpar Facility

Our storage infrastructure is housed within a carrier-grade colocation facility that maintains a current SOC 2 Type II attestation and is served by dual-feed utility power. The facility is a major Internet peering point for all major carriers providing excellent bandwidth availability. Access to the facility is closely controlled and monitored by closed circuit TV monitors. Keycard access is required to enter the collocation area which is manned by security personnel.

Data Center Rack
Service availability of the facility regularly exceeds 99.9% thanks to online battery backup and a diesel generator. A raised floor supplies forced air cooling through a caged area populated with locked cabinet racks.

Internet bandwidth is provided via redundant Gigabit Ethernet adapters with an uplink to multiple Tier-1 Internet backbone providers. All network traffic is secured by a commercial-grade firewall.

Dr.Backup uses highly reliable HP ProLiant servers with redundant power supplies and multiple fault-tolerant storage arrays. Each array provides over 30 Terabytes (TB) of high-speed disk storage, enough to support hundreds of online backup clients. For added reliability, RAID 6 (dual parity) fault tolerance is used for all client data storage. All disk drives are continuously monitored using predictive failure technology. Critical server components are spared onsite and LightSpar technicians are on call 24 by 7.

Storage Node
Bottom line: if you ever need to retrieve your data, it will be there. Safe and sound!

Note: SOC 2 Type II Attestation and Independent Auditor’s Opinion of our co-location facility are available for inspection by bona fide prospects considering use of Dr.Backup services. Execution of a non-disclosure agreement may be required.
