Your Online Backup Data Lives In An SSAE-16 Type II Certified Carrier-Grade Collocation
Security of your valuable data – after it has been backed up – is of paramount importance. For this reason, we have contracted with LightSpar, LLC for professional onsite management and technical support of our data storage equipment and telecommunications infrastructure.
Our equipment is located in an SSAE-16 Type II certified carrier-grade collocation supplied by dual-feed power grids. The facility is a major Internet peering point for all major carriers providing excellent bandwidth availability. The pictures shown on this page are true images of the main co-location area used by Dr.Backup. Access to the facility is closely controlled and monitored by closed circuit TV monitors. Keycard access is required to enter the collocation area which is manned by uniformed security guards. Your critical backups are literally maintained in a secure data “vault.”
Service availability of the facility regularly exceeds 99.9% thanks to 4,000 Amps of online battery backup and a 1,000 KVA diesel generator. A raised floor supplies forced air cooling through a caged area populated with locked cabinet racks.
Internet bandwidth is provided via redundant Gigabit Ethernet adapters with an up link to multiple Tier-1 Internet backbone providers. All network traffic is secured by a commercial grade firewall.
Dr.Backup uses highly-reliable HP Proliant servers with redundant power supplies and multiple fault-tolerant storage arrays. Each array provides approximately 15 Terabytes (TB) of high-speed disk storage – enough to support hundreds of online backup clients. For added reliability, RAID 6 (dual parity) fault tolerance is used for all client data storage. All disk drives are continuously monitored using predictive failure technology.
Critical server components are spared onsite and LightSpar technicians are on call 24 by 7.
Bottom line: if you ever need to retrieve your data – it will be there. Safe and sound!
Note: SSAE-16 Certification and Independent Auditor’s Opinion of Co-location Facility are available for inspection by bonafied prospects considering use of Dr.Backup services. Execution of a non-disclosure agreement may be required.
